A north-east view of the facade of St. John the Baptist's Church. Designed by Zbigniew Weber, the church began construction in 1957 in the Żwaków fields, supervised by Father Jan Kapołka, the parish's first Parish Priest . The work was carried out in a hurry so that the communist authorities would not put a stop to it. The church was built thanks to the help of the residents of the Żwaków and Housing Estate C's communities along with the Tychy Municipal Construction Company. Despite difficulties and harassment from the authorities, the church was consecrated on 21 December 1958, while fit-out works continued into the early 1960s. Dirt paths paths led to the church, situated in an open field. In 1973 the construction of nearby Housing Estate H commenced. In the years 1982-1983, the church was redeveloped.
